In the transformative Sanitary Sewer Master Plan for Oak Lodge Water Services District, wastewater process engineer Bashar played a key role. He conducted thorough historical data analysis and implemented a comprehensive sampling plan study in the field. With a dedication to sustainability, he collaborated on crafting innovative and data-driven solutions for the community’s wastewater treatment system. Bashar’s SNdN Pilot Test Plan at Marine Park WWTP. In a groundbreaking initiative at Marine Park Wastewater Treatment Plant, wastewater process engineer Bashar implemented a Pilot Test Plan to explore the possibility of achieving Simultaneous Nitrification and Denitrification (SNdN). The project aimed to enhance wastewater treatment while reducing energy consumption for the benefit of Vancouver city. Through meticulous data collection and analysis, Bashar studied the pilot system’s performance to unlock sustainable solutions and pave the way for a greener, more efficient future in wastewater treatment. The SNdN Pilot Test Plan stands as a beacon of hope and innovation, offering the promise of positive change for the environment and the community.



Columbia Boulevard WWTP Secondary Treatment Expansion Project (STEP) At the heart of the Columbia Boulevard Wastewater Treatment Plant, the Secondary Treatment Expansion Project (STEP) emerged as a transformative endeavor. This project focused on supplementing oxygen in aeration basins to achieve desired dissolved oxygen (DO) levels, a delicate balance of efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and environmental sustainability. A data-driven approach became the guiding palette, delving deep into historical data analysis to unveil insights into the plant’s performance over time. Collaborating closely with vendors, we explored High-Purity oxygen alternatives, crafting an optimization plan that not only enhanced treatment efficiency but also minimized the plant’s ecological footprint. The strokes of sustainability laid the foundation for a brighter and more sustainable future.

Crescent City WWTP Optimization In Crescent City, I embarked on a journey of optimization, a dance between the Rotating Biological Contactors (RBC) and Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) treatment lines. Anchored by historical data analysis and meticulous wastewater sampling plans, we collaborated with vendors to refurbish RBCs, harmonizing environmental preservation with cost considerations. The optimization plan blossomed as a catalyst for Crescent City WWTP, embracing innovative solutions and elevating its performance, bringing a symphony of positive impacts to the community and the environment.




Pilot Test Plan at Gresham WWTP. In the realm of disinfection, the Gresham Wastewater Treatment Plant emerged as a canvas for innovation. Leading the Pilot Test Plan, we meticulously collected daily grab and weekly composite samples, exploring the efficacy of PFA Disinfectant with the spirit of an artistic explorer. Pushing the boundaries of disinfection practices, we unlocked the potential of advanced methods, paving the way for more sustainable and efficient wastewater treatment practices. Each stroke of innovation illuminated a path toward a greener horizon.
